Photos I took of We Intergen's first chapter and the Family Church of Connecticut:
Project Background
One of the members, Bruce, from the Family Church of Connecticut started integrating intergenerational services (Sunday services made for all ages, including little kids and the elderly) once a month.
The project was so successful, that it became a corner stone of the community, and has started to gain some traction in other states. As a result, he created We Intergen, a non-profit organization helping communities build their intergenerational relationships.
Bruce needed a website where people could learn more about We Intergen and support its mission of building harmony in God-centric families.
Results

Illustrations And Images
Even though children are not likely to visit this website, the I made these illustrations that are meant to signal to parents that this is a family friendly service. This is further emphasized with the real images I look from some of the services I participated in. I tried to highlight that this really is a place where people of all ages contribute to the Bridgeport community.
Let's Face It
This section is meant for people who may have not clicked on the "What is We Intergen?" button above the fold, so that they can get some context of what We Intergen is and its philosophy without going to the about page.
Run By Our Community
This is essentially the "Help Support Us" section. Since We-Intergen is a program run by the people within the local community, on the home page it was important that the local people could help continue the program either by volunteering or making a donation.

Values and History
This page talks about the values and the history of We Intergen.
I drew the icons that represent each value by hand to keep continuity of the drawings from the home page. They were inspired by the topics they touched on in some of their services or how I felt when going to a few of their services. For example:
Creativity - I was inspired by a story that Mika, one of the lecturers, gave about how there was a girl that grew flowers in the middle of her city and people thought she was crazy. However, as the years passed, it became a really beautiful garden in the middle of the city which people really admired.
Welcoming - For this one, I thought about how I felt going into these services. The first thing I would see when someone greeted me would be their hands, and since there were people of all ages, I drew two hands; one symbolizing the younger generation, and the other symbolizing the older generation.
Celebration - There was a series of sermons where we celebrated each generation in that month, and all three generations (children, parents, and grandparents) got to wear a crown when we celebrated their generation.
Love of God - You know that feeling when someone hugs touches your heart? That's what I imagine the love of God is like, a warm hand touching my soul, my heart.
All Ages Together - As you may have noticed, it is the same illustration as the We Intergen logo, where you can see three people symbolizing the three generations that come together in this service. The line below that looks like the ground is meant to be the thread that unites us all together.
Stories Connect Us - I love pop-up books, they almost bring the stories into a new dimension. So, I drew a book opening with the flower from the story that inspired the Creativity icon and brought the bee which represents the audience being attracted to the flower within the story.

How to contribute
This page shows you three ways you can contribute to We Intergen.
It focuses on local volunteer roles and donations because that is how the organization sustains itself.
It focuses on local volunteer roles and donations because that is how the organization sustains itself.
Since there is a large amount of people from this community that are 50+, I knew that I would like to keep this page as minimal as possible so they can stay focused and finish the task to contribute in anyway they can to We Intergen.
There are more ways in which We Intergen will start to integrate more offerings in services and resources, but that was out of scope at the time of creating this website since the material wasn't produced yet.
